Microsoft представила новий інструмент для web-розробників: Web Platform Installer
Компанія Microsoft випустила безкоштовний продукт Web Platform Installer 1.0, що дозволяє спростити процес установки інструментарію Microsoft Web для розробки web-додатків, у тому числі таких технологій як .Net Framework 3.5, ASP.Net, Silverlight і так далі
Web Platform Installer дозволяє повністю встановити платформу Web Platform, яка включає Internet Information Server, Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition і SQL Server 2008 Express Edition. Інтерфейс Web Platform Installer практично нічим не відрізняється від традиційних інсталяторов отже розробникам надається вибір самих різних додатків і налаштувань.
За словами представників Microsoft, всі дії здійснюються буквально одним кліком і тому Web Platform Installer дозволить значно скоротити час на установку набору інструментів, які раніше доводилося шукати, встановлювати і налаштовувати окремо.
